Creating New Challenges Post-Launch

After launch, we recommend posting around 10 challenges per week to keep your community active and able to earn coins to redeem for discounts.

For ongoing inspiration for your challenges on TYB, you can check out our evergreen Challenge Bank that include prompts for consumer behavior, content collection, social media engagement and more.

Every two weeks, the TYB team sends out an email to all brand admins with platform updates, as well as timely Challenge prompts. If you miss an email, you can always check out the archive in our HelpKit here.

Determining Your Welcome Incentive

Offering a welcome incentive to your community at launch is a powerful way to build excitement around your brand launching on TYB, framed as a limited-time opportunity for your founding community members.

These welcome incentives can include:

  • Product Giveaways (full product line, PR boxes, several units of a hero product, etc)
  • Exclusive Merch and Opportunities (branded items, IRL activities, etc)
  • Bonus Coins (offering 1,000 coins on a 24-hour challenge)

How to Setup a Welcome Incentive Challenge

If you’re running an exclusive giveaway opportunity for your early members who join within the first week, we recommend using a Challenge Series, which allows you to create a string of Challenges for members to complete. This will allow you to prompt a member to complete several challenges in succession to gauge their excitement and ensure important details are up to date (including their mailing address).

For more details about best practices for running giveaways via TYB, please check out our HelpKit here.

Additionally, here are some examples of a Welcome Incentive Challenge Series below:

If your brand is offering bonus coins to members who join your community within the first 24 hours, we recommend creating a “Poll” under the Challenges tab to create a “This or That” style challenge and change the reward from 250 coins to 1,000 coins.

Sending a Welcome Message to Your Community

TYB’s chat feature is designed to help brands connect with their community in real time, foster engagement, and nurture stronger relationships between members. Beyond engagement, chat is a powerful tool to treat top members like insiders and strengthen your community’s retention.

Creating Your Announcements Channel

When you launch on TYB, your Implementation Manager will create an Announcements-only chat channel. This will allow you to have a one-way communication channel where you can share news about updates, community exclusives, and more.

After launch, you will be able to engage as a Brand Admin via the TYB app in the Announcements channel. At this time, we recommend sending a message in the chat to set the stage for TYB and welcome them to your community.

For inspiration, check out our Welcome Message template here.

Post-launch, we recommend continuing to use this channel for high-impact updates you want all members to see moving forward, including:

  • Major community or brand updates
  • Product launches
  • Exclusive TYB drops
  • New Challenges
  • Giveaway opportunities

Chat Guidelines and Moderation

1. Where to Access & Engage in Chat

  • Chat is only available in the TYB app – brands cannot engage in chat from the Brand Admin or web app.
  • Encourage your team and community leaders to actively participate in discussions to keep engagement high.

💡 Pro Tip: Brand admins in TYB will typically change their usernames to Jane @ BRAND NAME to engage with their community members in the Chat

2. Creating & Enforcing Chat Guidelines

  • TYB provides default chat guidelines, but brands are encouraged to create their own.
  • If you set unique community guidelines, post them in the Announcements chat for visibility.

3. Handling Moderation & Member Flags

  • Brands self-moderate their own chat channels.
  • You can flag or remove members directly from the app if behavior violates community guidelines.

💡 Pro Tip: Clearly communicate expected behavior and set the tone early for a respectful and engaging community.

Best Practices for Keeping Chat Active & Engaging

  • Use @here Strategically – Notify members about major product drops, exclusive rewards, or upcoming challenges.
  • Integrate Chat with Challenges – Use chat to amplify engagement by linking challenges and celebrating member wins.
