Best Practices for Creating Challenges
- Align Challenges with Brand Goals: Ensure each Challenge contributes to a meaningful business objective
- Make Participation Simple: The easier it is for users to complete a Challenge, the higher the participation
- When directing your community to another destination, leverage the Content Upload challenge type and always include a hyperlink in the challenge description to keep the experience frictionless for the user
- Offer Attractive Rewards: Provide incentives that align with your audience’s interests. We recommend starting with 100-250, giving higher rewards for more involved challenges (upload content, text response) and lower for simpler challenges (polls etc.)
- For Upload Content & text response challenges, we recommend starting with a small base reward and utilizing our bonus rewards for the bulk of the rewards. This way you can be confident that only those completing the challenges in earnest are getting rewarded
- As we continue working to reduce spam, please flag any inappropriate responses you see. Users who receive 2 flags will receive a warning email and users who receive 4 flags will be removed from the platform. Read more about Challenge moderation and reporting in our HelpKit here.
- Leverage Social Proof: Showcase top submissions or testimonials to inspire others
- Track Performance: Analyze participation rates and outcomes to refine future Challenges
- Post Challenges Consistently: TYB recommends posting 5 to 10 new Challenges per week. These should vary in completion effort and type
Reviewing, Bonuses and Moderating Responses:
