Klaviyo Auto-Enroll Setup

Bring your existing Shopify customers into your TYB community with no sign-up step.

Overview

TYB’s Auto-Enroll feature allows brands to bring their existing Shopify customer base into their TYB community with no sign-up step required, seamlessly scaling their community with pre-existing customers and brand fans. Through the Shopify connection, past purchasers will be enrolled as dormant community members with their past purchases credited as coins.

TYB will then send a white-labeled email on the brand’s behalf encouraging past customers to sign-up and claim their rewards by joining the TYB community.

What Are the Benefits of Auto-Enroll?

TYB’s Auto-Enroll feature will automatically sign-up a brand’s full customer base, making migrating loyalty into TYB seamless by allowing customers to claim their past-purchase rewards without friction. This converts a brand’s Shopify customer list into a loyalty community automatically, removing the sign-up step and allowing brands to:

  • Reward customers with coins on past purchases to keep day one engagement high
  • Get Obsessions from past customers to create quality UGC and product reviews
  • Seamlessly re-engage lapsed customers

How Auto-Enroll Works

Once a brand connects their Shopify storefront to TYB, the TYB team will import your existing customer base and purchase history from Shopify. Members are enrolled automatically and can claim their rewards via a white-labeled email on first visit, no manual signup required.

How to Setup Auto-Enroll

Setting up auto-enroll starts with giving TYB manager-level access to your Klaviyo account, so our team can build and organize the flow on your behalf.

This video walkthrough will take you through all of the steps of setting up Auto-Enroll, including:

  1. Open the Users section in Klaviyo 0:29
    1. Log in to your Klaviyo account.
    2. Navigate to Users in the account settings.
    3. Select Add New User to begin the invitation process.
  1. Enter TYB contact information 0:29
    1. In the email field, enter: megan@tyb.xyz
    2. Double-check the email for accuracy before continuing.
    3. Confirm you are adding the correct TYB contact for setup support.
  1. Assign the Manager role 0:43
    1. Set the new user’s role to Manager. This role allows TYB to:
      1. Create a new flow
      2. Set up templates
      3. Organize the flow before review
      • This role does not provide full administrative control.
  1. Add the user and complete setup 0:54
    1. Click Add User to send the invitation. Confirm the user has been added successfully.
      • TYB can now access the account with manager-level permissions to begin the Auto-Enroll setup.
  1. Once you've added TYB as a manager user in Klaviyo, email your TYB team to let them know access has been granted.

From there, we'll begin building your auto-enroll flow and follow up with next steps.

How to Customize Your Auto-Enroll Emails

In addition to granting TYB access to Klaviyo, brands must also select from the two branding options for the Auto-Enroll sequence:

  1. Co-branded: Our template with your logo, photo and name.
    1. For next steps, fill out TYB’s Auto-Enroll branding form to include the necessary assets
  1. Brand designed: Customize our Figma template to match your look, then we build it into your flow.
    1. For next steps, make a copy of TYB’s Figma template and adjust it to match your branding. From there, open the share settings and allow "Anyone" to “Can view’ to “Can edit.”

Brands should then complete TYB’s Auto-Enroll branding form to finalize:

  • Launch date and email timing
  • Email branding option
  • Customer discount offer ($-off, converted into coins in TYB)

Once TYB receives these assets, the team will share the email designs for approval before sending out to any customers.

Auto-Enroll Callouts:

  • Do not assign a higher permission level than Manager unless explicitly approved.
  • TYB should not have access to export email addresses or delete users from the account.
  • Verify the email address carefully before sending the invitation to avoid delays.
  • If your account has additional permission restrictions, confirm they do not block manager access before proceeding.

Tips for Auto-Enroll Efficiency:

  • Prepare the TYB email address in advance to reduce entry errors.
  • Use the Manager role only for the access needed to build and organize flows.
  • After adding the user, notify TYB so they can begin setup promptly.
  • Keep a record of the invitation date and assigned role for internal tracking.

FAQs

Can I turn Auto-Enroll on by myself?

No, a TYB admin has to enable Auto-Enroll for brands at this time.

What does the welcome email look like, and how often does it send?

It's white-labeled as your brand with a single CTA to claim. Customers with a qualifying purchase see their coin balance and dollar value. Two initial emails will be sent one week apart at launch, and another email will be sent two weeks later.

Who gets enrolled and emailed?

Only customers who've actually purchased from a brand will be emailed. Non-purchasers are never enrolled or emailed.

What can a not-activated member do, and what do I see?

If members do not claim their past purchase rewards, they will see nothing — no profile, Challenges, or Obsessions, and most actions will be disabled until they claim. These members appear in the member table as not-activated, sorted to the bottom, with actions disabled (export only).

When are members' coins credited?

When the customer claims their account. The first pass covers their 10 most recent orders; the rest follow on an hourly sync.

What if a customer's already on TYB?

If a customer is already on TYB, no duplicate account is created — they get an invite to join your community with one click and keep their auto-enroll tag.
