Shopify Integration Setup – Tyb

Overview

The TYB Shopify integration enables brands to seamlessly connect their Shopify store with TYB, allowing for coin-based rewards for purchase, in-app redemptions, and automated discount code generation. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the integration and ensuring a smooth experience for both your team and customers.

This integration is required to complete onboarding and move forward with launch.

Before You Start

Make sure you:

Have Admin access to your Shopify store

Are logged into your Brand Admin on TYB

Step 1: Install the TYB Redemption App

Install the TYB Redemption App from the Shopify App Store.

Once installation is complete, return to this page to continue setup.

Step 2: Copy Your Storefront Name

In your Shopify storefront, locate and copy your Storefront Name in the top-right corner.

Return to your TYB Brand Admin.

Paste your storefront name into the required field.

Click Create API Key.

Copy the API key from the next step to paste it into Shopify.

After copying, click “Paste API Key” in the pop-up to be taken directly to Shopify, or proceed to Step 3 below.

Note: If the button does not take you to the correct page in Shopify, it’s likely that the storefront name was not entered exactly as it appears in Shopify. Please double-check and try again.

Step 3: Complete Setup in Shopify

Head back to your Shopify storefront.

In Shopify, navigate to Apps → TYB from the left-hand menu.

Click Setup under the TYB app.

Paste the copied API Key into the E-commerce Integration field.

Click Save.

Click Enable Discounts to activate TYB’s discount functionality at checkout.

Step 4: Finalize the Integration in TYB

Return to your TYB Brand Admin.

Click Next to finalize your Shopify integration.

Step 5: Confirm your AOV

Add in your Average Order Values to Optimize your reward economy on TYB.

NOTE: AOV will determine your Rewards economy including value of your coins and leveling spend requirements. Recommend using your DTC AOV

Click Finish Setup.

Step 6: Confirm Connection

Once complete, you should see:

Your storefront name listed

Status marked as Active under Shopify – TYB Redemption

Need Help?

If you don’t see an Active status:

Refresh the page and wait a few moments

Confirm the correct API Key was pasted

Make sure discounts are enabled in Shopify

If issues persist, reach out to your Onboarding Manager or the TYB team for support.

Optional for Shopify Plus Users: Configure the Checkout Extension

Brands on Shopify Plus can leverage TYB’s checkout extension, making it even easier for their members to redeem coins.

Navigate to Settings → Checkout and accounts → Go to Checkout Editor.

Add the TYB app by selecting Add App and enable Allow app to block checkout.

Choose the app’s location on the checkout page and click Save.

Note: Only place the widget when your community is ready to launch on TYB.

TYB will now be able to:

✔ Generate and sync discount codes for redemptions

✔ Track orders to reward customers with coins

✔ Manage in-app TYB Shop redemptions

Optional for Shopify Plus Users (Recommended): Add Account Widget

Brands on Shopify Plus can let community members see their TYB wallet balance right from their account page on the brand’s website with our embedded widget. To set this up follow the steps in the helpkit page here!

Navigate to Settings → Checkout and accounts → Go to Checkout Editor.

Select Profile in the Information dropdown in the top center.

Select Add app block under Profile in the left side menu. Then select customer-account-widgets under TYB. All set!

Note: Only place the widget when your community is ready to launch on TYB.

Configuring Discount Code Redemptions

TYB gives brands control over how TYB discount codes interact with other promotions at Shopify checkout. Some settings can be managed directly in Brand Admin, while others require support from the TYB team.

Code Stacking (Product & Order Discounts)

Product and Order discount stacking must be enabled by TYB. If you’d like to allow TYB codes to stack with product or order discounts.

To request changes:

Reach out to your TYB Customer Success Manager, or

Email brandsupport@tyb.xyz

Free Shipping Code Stacking

Brands can self-manage Free Shipping stacking directly in Brand Admin.

To adjust Free Shipping stacking:

Go to TYB Brand Admin → Integrations → Shopify → Edit Code Stacking

Toggle Free Shipping stacking on or off

Click Save to confirm changes

Note: Even when Free Shipping stacking is enabled, any cart minimums set in Shopify will still apply.

Product Collections

Control how discount codes generated through TYB are applied at checkout by limiting eligibility to specific collections. This feature ensures that community members can only redeem for select products, providing brands with greater precision in managing their promotions and protecting product margins.

Go to Products → Collections in Shopify and click Create Collection.

Give the collection a name and save it.

Add products to the collection that will be eligible for TYB-generated discounts.

In the TYB admin interface

For Coins:

Go to Integrations → Edit Settings → Discount Codes.

Enable Product collection discount only and select the applicable collection(s).

For Collectibles (if applicable):

Note: Collectible discount configurations must be updated by the TYB Implementation Team. Please reach out to your CSM to complete this step.

Multi-Market and Storefront Management Configuration

This feature enables brands with multiple Shopify markets or storefronts to align the member experience with their preferred shipping location. For brands with multiple Shopify storefronts, this feature ensures members access the correct currency, pricing, and discount availability based on their market. This setup helps prevent code mismatches and ensures smooth transactions across different regions.

Generate Separate API Keys for Each Storefront in TYB:

In the TYB admin interface, go to Settings → Integrations.

Generate a new API key for each Shopify storefront (e.g., Shopify-US, Shopify-EU).

Label each key to match the corresponding storefront. Copy these API keys.

Install TYB App in Each Storefront:

Follow the steps at the top of this document to install the TYB app into each storefront.

Link Storefronts to TYB Coins and Collectibles:

In the TYB admin, navigate to Integrations → Shopify → Edit Settings → Multi-market redemption, and toggle on the markets you want to activate.

Provide the TYB Implementation team with the markets you want live and the AOV for each. Our team will configure the appropriate Coin values or discounts for each storefront.

Save changes.

*In the TYB app, community members select their shipping location to generate the code for the correct storefront*

In the TYB app, members can see eligible locations for their discount codes based on where your brand ships.

In the Brand Admin, you can see and edit what markets are available to your members. We port this information based on your Market details in Shopify.

Final Steps & Support

Once your integration is live:

✔ Test a purchase and redemption flow to confirm functionality

✔ Monitor coin rewards and redemptions through Shopify; all orders with a redemption code will be tagged TYB

✔ Use Klaviyo integration to automate personalized outreach based on TYB activity
