Recharge Integration Setup

TYB integrates with Recharge, allowing subscription customers to redeem earned coins toward their first subscription payment and all future subscription charges.

The TYB x Recharge integration enables brands to connect their subscription program with TYB rewards, allowing members to earn coins through engagement and redeem them toward their first subscription payment and future subscription billing cycles.

TYB does not create or manage subscriptions inside TYB Shop or TYB checkout.

All subscriptions must still be created on your DTC site (Shopify + Recharge checkout). TYB sits on top of your subscription program as a loyalty and rewards layer, not a checkout system, though members can now use their TYB discount right at signup, the same way they would on a one-time purchase, and continue applying rewards to future charges from the TYB app afterward.

Think of it as: Earn in TYB → Redeem at signup on your website → Keep saving on future charges from the app.

For best results, keep subscription signup on your DTC site and use TYB Shop for one-time products, merch, bundles, and rewards.

Members can apply their TYB discount at two points in their subscription journey:

1. First payment (at signup): Members generate a discount code in the TYB app and paste it at DTC checkout when they first subscribe, the same way they would on any one-time purchase.

2. Future payments (from the app): For all subsequent billing cycles, members redeem coins directly from the TYB app in their Wallet.

Step by step, for future charges:

Note: the subscription redemption option will only appear if the brand has Recharge enabled, or if the member already has an active subscription with that brand.

How TYB identifies which subscription to apply the discount to:

TYB uses the member's email to locate their active Recharge subscriptions. It automatically applies the discount to the earliest upcoming charge. If multiple subscriptions are billed on the same date, it applies to the highest-value subscription. Members will see the updated price reflected in Recharge before their next billing date.

Already a subscriber? TYB will detect the subscription automatically once the member's account is connected. No need to cancel or re-subscribe -- they can start redeeming right away.

Product Purchase Rewards:

Members earn 5% cashback in coins on purchases made directly through your Shopify site. Each recurring subscription charge creates a new Shopify order and is processed as a new purchase in TYB, meaning members can continue earning coins on each subscription billing cycle.

Can members apply their TYB discount when they first subscribe?

Yes. Members can generate a discount code in the TYB app and paste it at checkout on your DTC site to save on their first subscription payment, just like any other purchase.

Do existing subscribers need to do anything to start using TYB rewards on future charges?

No. TYB automatically detects their active Recharge subscription once they join the community. They can start redeeming toward upcoming charges from the app right away.

Can members earn coins on their subscription orders?

Yes. Each recurring charge is processed as a new Shopify order, so members earn coins automatically every billing cycle.

Does the member need to redeem coins before every billing cycle?

Yes, for future charges. TYB does not apply discounts automatically across multiple cycles. Members must redeem manually from the app before each upcoming charge. The first payment is the exception, members generate a code in the app and apply it themselves at checkout, the same way as a standard one-time purchase.

Can customers partially pay for subscriptions with coins?

Yes. Members can choose the number of coins to redeem per transaction, allowing flexibility in how they apply rewards.

What if the subscription is paused or skipped after coins are applied?

Coins will not be refunded once applied. Members should reach out to your brand's support team to discuss options.

When will the discount appear?

For the first payment, immediately at checkout, once the code is applied. For future charges, on the next scheduled Recharge charge, confirmed by email.

Who should members contact if they have an issue?

For issues with coin redemption in the TYB app, members should contact TYB support at brandsupport@tyb.xyz. For issues with the subscription itself or how a discount was applied in Recharge, members should reach out to your brand's support team directly.

TYB does not replace subscriptions. It makes them more valuable.
